Punks Jump Up ft. Dave 1 of Chromeo - Mr. Overtime

"Joe Attard & David Andersson AKA Punks Jump Up are out with a grooving new single that features the undeniably sexy vocals from Chromeo's Dave 1, who supposedly heard a demo from the PJU guys and felt an urge to throw some words on top of it. On April 30th, the EP package will be released on Moda Music and accompanied by 4 other mixes of the original. Stream the premiere of the Gigamesh remix and read on for the full EP tracklist and another little surprise from Oliver."

Purity Ring
Obedear Purity Ring - Obedear

"You've already heard roughly seven seconds of this one on loop over at their website, and now Purity Ring has unleashed the first full track from their highly anticipated debut full-length Shrines, out this summer on 4AD. "Obedear" is the kind of thick, addictive future-pop gem that Purity Ring has displayed an uncanny knack for producing over the last year or so, as the duo remains a pretty close/natural distillation of just about everything we're into at the moment."

Swim Deep
King City
Swim Deep - King City

"Swim Deep are a young 3-piece (or "3 Bros dreaming" to quote their Facebook page) who's uplifting melodies and youthful joie de vivre help them stand out from the ever-swelling crowd of surf-rock practitioners. They may be from grey Birmingham (UK), but their music comes straight from beach-side barbecues, and long, warm nights getting drunk and having fun. In "King City" they sing about Jerry Lee Lindberg (the Warpaint bassist) being their girlfriend, but the subject matter isn't important – instead it's the fuzzy, happy warmth of the track that will have you playing it over and over. Listen below, and take a peek at the carefree video here. "King City" is released May 14th."

Black Light Dinner Party
Leave It All
Black Light Dinner Party - Leave It All

"Black Light Dinner Party haven't even released an album yet, but after "Older Together" and "Gold Chain", I know that I can consistently [expect] quality songs from them. Their first release of 2012 is "Leave It All", a dance-electronic song with a strong sense of sincerity and heart. The band's debut album is currently in the works. They will be doing some shows this summer. But first, they are playing at Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn on May 3. "

Blackbird Blackbird
Waikiki Blackbird Blackbird - Waikiki

"Mikey Maramag has buckled down on his quality control over the past few months, being more selective with the music he drops on the internet. The result, incredibly expansive sounds that continue to develop the palette of this exciting artist known as Blackbird Blackbird. For his latest jam, the west coast native pulls out "Waikiki", a jam that is damn-near perfect for frolicking on the beach. Let's hope this one finds its way onto the forthcoming project, Boracay Planet EP."

Me And My Drummer
You're A Runner
Me And My Drummer - You're A Drummer

"The duo are Charlotte Brandi und Matze Pröllochs. They met whilst working at a theatre, making music for plays. It's something that's obviously filtered into their new compositions, with plenty of melodramatics and thespian-esque elements to their songs. They don't so much as write to play music, more they write to perform it. Their ten-track album The Hawk, The Beak, The Prey is out on May 11th, but us English-speakers frustratingly actually have to wait until September 21st before it gets a release in the UK. The first single, and the song that's gained most initial attention, is the excellent You're A Runner. Rather enjoyably they master lyrics like it was their first language, singing raw and tender lines, such as "You're a runner, why do you wanna kill yourself? Don't confuse your speed with the turning of the earth", but it's Brandi's clean voice that allows it to really get under your skin."

Sóley
I'll Drown Sóley - I'll Drown

Iceland Awesomeness - 2 of 3
"Sóley Stefánsdóttir, a member of the Icelandic indie-collective Seabear & Sin Fang, announces her debut full-length, We Sink, the follow up to last year's Theater Island EP. The album will be released on October 4th via Morr Music & she has offered the first single "I'll Drown" available for free, grab it below. It wasn't until Sóley had been around the world & back with Seabear that she finally deemed her own voice as a proper singing one. In We Sink she creates a musical realm, her own world that she freely expands, stakes out, reinvents, & turns upside down. The album contains 13 tracks of intricate compositions where she combines seemingly disparate elements with stunning ease. Sometimes incredibly catchy & other times amazingly quirky, We Sink has a carefree quality reminiscent of earlier Icelandic acts but also calling to mind the sounds of Joanna Newsom, or the Casady sisters circa 2004. Sóley will tour Europe behind the album this fall with Sin Fang including a performance at this year's Reykjavik Iceland Airwaves Festival."
