I decided to highlight Pomegranates (Cincinnati) again because I don't think they've gotten enough press for their latest album, 'Everybody Come Outside'. I saw them several months ago at Lions Lair (Hi Dive was double booked so Pomegranates got the boot). The Hi Dive redeemed themselves by inviting them to come and play again. The lineup consisted of Pomegranates as the opening band, then Anni Rossi, who is an extremely talented musician, and headlining was Headlights. All three bands were amazing and deserved the headlining spot. Alas, someone has to play first and this time it was Pomegranates. The last time I saw Pomegranates, lead vocalist Joey Cook was sick, so he was struggling through parts of the set. This time the band was great. They were energetic and put on a spectacular performance. Get to shows on time is all I have to say. Additional photos from the show can be found on the ArtistRoster Flickr page. Cone Of Light by The Almighty Defenders
"The Almighty Defenders is a supergroup consisting of members from the Black Lips and The King Khan & BBQ Show. The band was formed in February 2009 in Berlin, Germany." The Black Lips tour was cancelled because of shenanigans in India and in an attempt to hide out, the Lips stayed with King Khan in Berlin. During those 8 days of drunken debauchery, they laid down 11 tracks with King Khan & BBQ Show. |
