Innovator by Plains Good luck finding any info about "Plains". Only a small handful of blogs have even mentioned them, with equally vague descriptions. I can only assume that additional tracks will be equally good. "Plains" are signed to a label, so let's hope they put some more material out soon. Until then, this track should suffice. Runway, Houses, City, Clouds by Tame Impala This track is trippy. In fact, I think the artist that designed the album cover did an excellent job of visually portraying the "rainbow sandstorm of stoned riffage, mindbending melody and blissed out adventurism" according to the description of the band on their label site "Modular". Faded High by Gayngs "Gayngs is the new project between Justin Vernon, Megafaun, and Solid Gold. The group plan to play some shows starting in May where according to their publicist, “everyone or nearly everyone who plays on the record (around 24 people) will be appearing at the performances". Moon Theory by Miami Horror Check out the title track to a full length "Miami Horror" album due out later this year. I dare you to remain perfectly still while listening to it. I double dare you. Friend Of The Night by Teen Inc. "Teen Inc." is borderline smooth jazz, except that they mix in enough of that "chill wave" sound to still be relevant. "Teen Inc." are true musicians, evidence of which is in the video to the right ---> MP3 Friend Of The Night BUY \|
The Night Before The Funeral by The Mary Onettes We've mentioned "The Mary Onettes" a number of times over the past year (HERE and HERE). They've done a good job of putting out new material on a consistent basis. This track is an exclusive for Record Store Day on April 17. Any decent independent record store near you should have a copy of it. Prelude by Stalker I'm not sure I have the capacity to truly describe this track from "Stalker". I haven't found any information on the internet that tells us who the mysterious person is behind the project. From the sounds coming out of my speakers, I can only assume that the person has some issues. None the less, I keep coming back to this track. There is something genius about how the original track has been warped so far from it's intended limits, that it becomes an original work of art. I would suggest listening to the track a couple of times before making up your mind about it. The video to the right is another artist, but I've seen it come up a number of times when searching for "Stalker". It's equally dark, disturbing, and awesome. I hope this doesn't give me nightmares. This time, they've thrown together "Class Actress" and Former Death Row artists "Snoop Dogg" and "Dr. Dre". Death Row is the label that pays me. Just like last week, this bonus track has some colorful language.
