I Will Come Back (Classixx remix)
by Holy Ghost!
Holy Ghost!

"If the original is what you listen to on the way to a party, then this is the jam for the way home. Mellowed out, spacey, and made for losing yourself in passing streetlights and yellow lines as you reflect on the human condition."

I Was Sad & You Were Lonely
by Bodebrixen
Bodebrixen

"Opening with a drum loop straight outta ‘Self Service’ – from Studio’s masterpiece West Coast, ‘I Was Sad & You Were Lonely’ is actually the latest from Danish duo Bodebrixen. Never a pair to shy away from their love of Swedish music, this is perhaps their finest moment to date."

Throwing Shade
by Abe Vigoda
Abe Vigoda

"Good news everyone: Abe Vigoda is still alive! The actor as well as the band. The former is hanging out with Betty White and eating Snickers bars. The latter just released a new single. The song is called “Throwing Shade” and it’s a crossover into electropop."

Don't Mind
by Spectrals
Spectrals

"There’s a slow rhythmic vocal refrain to the vocals on Spectrals’s song “Don’t Mind”, which combined with the chimes and strings produces a Scott Walker/Phil Spector effect. It’s ethereal and feels like it’s being beamed from the past directly to your computer, maybe picking up a little shoegaze influence along the way."

Tricycle Express
by Dr Oizo & Gaspard Augé
Mr. Oizo & Gaspard Augé

"Right now your local multiplex is the furry-browed, toothless thug that’s waiting to assault you with a terribly written Hollywood blockbuster (look behind you, it’s right behind you!!). But thankfully there’s a cinematic treat to look forward to from the delightfully strange Quentin Dupieux. Dupieux (aka Mr. Oizo) is coming out with a full-length feature that tells the story of Robert, a murderous car tyre whose telepathic powers can make people’s heads explode. After a successful screening at Cannes, the film was immediately snapped up by a distributor so hopefully (hopefully!) you won’t have to avoid your multiplex’s lecherous advances for much longer.
Accompanying the batty visuals is a soundtrack by Dupieux and Gaspard Augé (of Justice). And just to wet your pants some more, there’s even a Flying Lotus remix. The Rubber EP is available now, look out for the film on limited release in the coming months."

The Truest Faith
by Korallreven
Korallreven

"Ah yes, Sweden. Seems to be one of the best spots for new music. Korallreven are no exception. The dudes have just put out their The Truest Faith EP. It is a lovely listen. Features two originals and six remixes, three of each track. The title track is a cruisy number and is a really good accompaniment to a lazy afternoon (which, in my case, should be spent doing work, but instead writing about some killer tunes). The string lines and the layers of vocals towards the end make this such a sweet track."

Barricade
by Interpol
Interpol

"The 7th of September is drawing nearer and quite quickly in fact. The boys in Interpol are applying the pressure with a new song available to hear taken from the forthcoming self-titled record. This one is called Barricade. If you thought Lights sounded like it fit on the debut like the warm comforter you couldn’t wait to snuggle into as winter came closing in, consider Barricade the companion piece to Slow Hands."

People Do The Most
Amazing Things
by Kisses
Kisses

"Proving they're not just for romping about in your bermuda shorts, Kisses return with new single 'People Can Do The Most Amazing Things' next month. It's shoegaze influenced - an understated throb of synth and guitars replace the disco shimmers - but there's still a smooth FM chorus and those curious Constandinos-alike twiddles. Braced for the moody-pop songs that autumn will no doubt bring, this is like pair of three quarter length trews (if they weren't so fugly, of course)." via - Neu Magazine

I Go Away
by MNDR
MNDR

"Fresh, cute and sassy. MNDR has emerged with a quintessential electronic album packed with peerless beats and uplifting lyrics. Already being endowed with comparisons to Santigold (which is a good thing considering Santi has been considerably absent from the music scene,) MNDR’s 4 track is EP is a solid effort. Whether it be the chanty, poppy vibe on Fade to Black or the beautiful riffs on I Go Away, MNDR is going to prove to be a recurring fixture within music."

20,000 Leagues (The Feather)
by Theo
Theo

"It's been a while since IGIF saw any hip-hop above the fold, and I'm out to change that with the following two songs from Providence rapper Theo. Theo, if y'all remember, picked up the #10 spot on IGIF's favorite hip-hop albums of 2008 for his debut mixtape The Birth. Dude's been up to a lot since then, putting out two more mixtapes and collaborating with pretty much everyone he could get his hands on. One of those hook ups is the following track called "20 Thousands Leagues" that samples Little Dragon's excellent '09 banger "The Feather".

Kid Cudi, Best Coast and Rostam Batmanglij

"Selling out sounds pretty good, eh? Citizen Insane favourite, Bethany Cosentino (aka Best Coast) recently teamed up with Kid Cudi and Rostam Batmanglij (of Vampire Weekend & Discovery) in the name of Converse. The track finds Cudi and Bethany trading vocal duties, while Batmanglij goes all Jack White on us and handles drumming duties. Cudi smells like pot and still sounds like he doesn't have a care in the world and Bethany's guitar/vox are beachy and reverbed, so nothing's really new here, but the song's a jam if not only because its sonics stay true to its title."

by Two Door Cinema Club
Two Door Cinema Club

"Two Door Cinema Club have plotted a US tour that will bring them to Denver! The” band most likely to succeed Bloc Party” is behind one of my favorite releases of 2010, “Tourist History”, for the simple fact that their music won’t allow for you to sit still for longer than two seconds before breaking out in a fit of restless leg."

Skimper Woodsy
by YFTB
YFTB

"YFTB’s tracks aren’t just catchy dance anthems, like those ending up on the various end of year compilations. On the contrary, in just the few tracks currently available, we find a range of experiences and influences. The beautiful Skimper Woodsy, for example, is a simple and moving electronic wail of emotion. It rolls on with a choir of voices floating behind the soaring sine waves."

Think About Life

"Just like TV On The Radio – with whom they seem to share playful ideals – they seem more than happy to experiment without losing the tune, or indeed the listener. There’s plenty of funk, genial samples and handclaps throughout, planting smiles across the room as they serve up their satisfying soul food."
