It’s been over a year of inactivity, and a lot has happened in my life that’s kept me from posting regularly. I moved from my native home of Colorado to Sydney Australia, where I lived for nearly two years. And now I’m back in the USA and living in NYC. Naturally, some of my priorities got shuffled as I trotted around the globe, and ArtistRoster was one of the projects that fell by the wayside.
So, to catch all of you up on what I’ve been listening to over that last year-ish, here’s a little playlist that I hope you’ll enjoy as much as I do.
This song has been kicking around for a while, but now it comes with a fancy new video. It features the classic hot chick, bouncing around in slow motion.
C2C is a 4-person dj team from France. They’re 4-time DMC world champions (2003-2006), 1-time ITF world champions (2005) and they use turntables as instruments, much like Birdy Nam Nam.
I try not to discriminate against entire genres, but often times I see “Dubstep” as a tag in a post or on Soundcloud and I’m turned off. Rather than skip ahead, I force myself to give each track a fair shake. That’s what happened several months ago when I first discovered Jeff Montalvo, aka Seven Lions. He remixed “You Got To Go” by Above and Beyond, and I immediately knew that this guy was good. He changed my mind about Dubstep; that it could be good without being “aggro”. Below is another great remix by this young and talented producer. I urge you to give Dubstep a chance, at least as long as Seven Lions is the topic of discussion.
This track has been around since 2008, but never saw the light of day, sort of. The backing track eventually became “Super Gum“. Recently, Black Moth Super Rainbow frontman Tobacco (aka Tom Fec) released the remix for all of us to enjoy.
